Write For Us

If you want to write for The Seed Network then you’re at the right place.

The whole emphasis behind The Seed Network is providing an open space for individuals to come forward and share their stories about what they believe, and more importantly what they’re doing about issues relating to the sex trade and sexual exploitation. Our mission is to inspire and encourage people from all walks of life to think a little bit differently about how they see not only the debate but how to go about responding to it once they’ve walked away from the discussion.

We do have some writer’s guidelines that you can see below. We welcome writers from all backgrounds but if you have any journalism or writing experience that is always a plus. We want to say a big thanks for your interest and look forward to hearing from you in the near future!

The Seed Network seeks to promote a holistic approach to issues surrounding sexual identity and sexual exploitation. The site connects individuals at a local and national level highlighting the difference individuals can make, spotlighting key initiatives and projects that are going on in the UK with a preference given to the advocacy of grassroots activism. That is activities that redeem communities and individuals and encourage self-sufficiency, seeking out and challenging the roots of the problem.

We’re open to variety of worldviews and encourage content that will ask our readers to wrestle with tough questions of our lifestyles and ourselves. The site is rooted in a Christian worldview but is completely open to the views of other individuals seeking to contribute, by no means is every contributor a Christian.

We are looking for contributors on the following subjects.

  • The Sex Trade covers issues like prostitution, sex trafficking, strip clubs etc. There will be a focus on the commercial manifestations of gender injustice and/or exploitation. 750-1000 words.
  • Activism focuses on the ideas and ways in which people are choosing to respond to issues around them, specifically issues relating to gender equality, the commercial sex trade and other areas impacted by those subjects. All the while the emphasis should be on a methodology that lends gravity to creativity and a positive outlook. 750-1000 words.
  • Cultural Issues looks at the presumptions that exist relating to the sex trade in the UK but also with a more general focus on the UK and can branch out on to secondary points of focus like art, business, music and the media in a way that reflects the positive values and outlook of the magazine. 750-1000 words.

All submissions will be taken and views expressed will be that of the individual not an organisation, we have a working relationship with individuals from a number of organisations with different perspectives and as a site itself are non-partisan for precisely this reason. The site is not a soap box for organisations but a place to share the experience and activities of individuals who feel motivated to respond in whatever fashion they have chosen. Entries should also be from individuals dealing with the issues in the UK or are from the UK and dealing with the issues abroad. Again, it’s perfectly fine to mention organisations and the amazing work they do but we do not wish to express preference and instead want to communicate the stories in a way that touches on the individuals journey when handling the subjects the magazine deals with, we ourselves are non-partisan as we do not want to facilitate discussion not dominate it.

We are also looking for columnists who have unique perspectives concerning the topics featured in the magazine and can speak from the front lines of the good work that is going on around the UK.
